Amino acids are the biggest components of our bodies. They are the building blocks of our being and the chemical basis for all protein. Our bodies use amino acids for everything. Amino acids are needed to form our internal organs, skin, muscles, hair, and fluids. They build cells, help repair tissue and help our bodies build the necessary antibodies that combat bacteria, germs and viruses. Amino acids are important to every aspect of our being.

There are approximately twenty different kinds of amino acids. We need all twenty amino acids in our system to make all the necessary proteins to live a healthy life. When referring to amino acids, they are categorized into two groups: essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids. The essential amino acids are the one that your body is unable to produce. Your body gets these amino acids through your dietary intake. The amino acids categorized as non-essential are just as important but are ultimately produced by your liver.

Amino acids are extremely important. 100% of all protein is from amino acids. Your heart is made up of 95% amino acid, your muscles are made of 95% amino acid, 100% of hormones, 100% of neuropeptides in your brain that are released with each and every thought you have are composed of amino acids.

Therefore if you are a vegetarian, hypoglycemic, an allergy sufferer, or a person who suffers from stress related fatigue you should consider taking amino acid supplements. Other people who would benefit from taking an amino acid supplement are persons who have difficulty digesting food and athletes that are interested in gaining muscle mass and bulking up. If you have found that you have trouble digesting food, this could be a sign of diminished digestive enzymes that can be replenished by increasing your amino acid intake. Remember, many of your amino acids come from your diet. Therefore, if you are not digesting your food properly you will not be getting a sufficient amount of amino acids.

Most health food stores or in foods such as meat, fish, vegetables, legumes or and dairy products. Athletes might find it beneficial to take an amino acid supplement in the form of a powder to help them gain muscle and gain lean muscle weight. If you find it necessary to supplement amino acids in your diet in the form of a powder you should use about one and a half grams of amino acid supplement powder three times a day. This should help you in digesting food and adding muscle to your body. There should be no side effects from an amino acid supplement if taken properly.

A powerful antioxidant, Vitamin C supplements protect the body against free radicals, while also supporting proper immune system functioning. But the benefits of Vitamin C supplements don’t stop there. They may also help to keep gums healthy and is known to produce collagen, which helps to maintain healthy ligaments, tendons, bones and skin.

Vitamin C, which is also called ascorbic acid, helps to maintain healthy collagen in the skin, repair damaged tissue, promote healthy teeth and bones, and boost the immune system.

Commonly used to combat colds, flu and other illnesses of the like, Vitamin C supplements are also important to a healthy heart. They help to thin the blood to prevent clots and lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Vitamin C is not something the body can make on its own, so it must be obtained through food or a Vitamin C supplement.

Vitamin C is one of the more powerful and well-known antioxidants. Just as exposing a cut apple to air causes it to quickly turn brown, cells of the body can also suffer damage when exposed to oxygen, a process known as oxidation. Oxidation causes aging of the skin as well as all other organs and tissues of the body. Vitamin C, as a free-radical fighter, helps ward off wrinkles and many illnesses linked to oxidation, including cataracts, arthritis, heart disease, and cancer.

Vitamin C supplements function as an anti-inflammatory, and help the body fight inflammatory diseases, including arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. A multitude of other conditions may be improved by taking a vitamin C supplements, including angina, bronchitis, bruises, canker sores, constipation, diabetes, eyestrain, gingivitis, glaucoma, hangover, infertility, joint pain, rashes, rosacea, shingles, sore throat, sprains, sunburn, and yeast infections, urinary tract infections, and scurvy (a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency). Because vitamin C helps the body absorb iron, it is also useful in treating iron deficiency and anemia.

While there is no actual proof that vitamin C can cure the common cold, ascorbic acid can certainly help alleviate the symptoms of a cold. However, when it comes to longevity, antiaging evidence has been produced to validate the claim that Vitamin C can improve life expectancy. One analysis of the dietary consumption of eleven thousand individuals found that getting 300 milligrams daily of a Vitamin C supplement could add as much as six years to the life of a man and as much as two years to the life of a woman.
