You’ve heard all the experts and read all of the weight loss tips and you’re finally convinced you should probably increase the amount of protein you have each day. But, you’re a fairly healthy person with who eats right most of the time and you’re not convinced you have to take protein supplements. If you just eat enough lean turkey and chicken along with some extra egg whites each morning, you can boost your protein intake to the recommended level. You may want to think that one through again.

In a typical serving of protein powder you’re going to get about 30 grams of isolated protein while only taking in about 1 gram of fat and little to no sugar. In order to get that same amount of protein with chicken, you’re going to have to eat about 3/4 of a breast and that’s going to give you about 6 or 7 grams of additional fat. Want to try doing the same things with egg whites? That’s going to mean you need to cook up at least 7 eggs.

That’s looking at things purely from a nutritional point of view. For most people, they would much rather enjoy a big glass of chocolate protein shake instead of a 7 egg-white omelet. Not to mention the convenience of mixing up your protein shake in a blender rather than heating up a pan, cracking some eggs, whisking them up and then cooking them. Oh, and don’t forget about clean up afterwards. It’s also much more convenient to take an extra 30 grams of protein supplement with you to work than it is to take the same thing in the form of eggs or chicken breast.

There are other options available for you if you get tired of having shakes. I always like to have a few boxes of protein bars in the cupboard for the moments when I need something in my stomach and I don’t want to hassle with mixing up a shake. These also work out very well when packing a healthy lunch for work.

As you can see, not only will a good protein supplement fit into you nutritional program much better, it will also fit into your lifestyle a lot easier. Yes, this does mean you’re going to be spending a bit of money on the protein each month, but great prices can be found online, with a little bit of searching. Set up a separate email address and get on as many mailing lists as you can. That way you’ll get notified whenever your favorite brand goes on sale.

In recent months, I have been testing out ways to create the ideal protein bar recipe. When I began, I was trying out a low carbohydrate diet (kind of like the Atkins Diet) and used protein powder, nut meal and nuts; unfortunately, the end result was a very dry recipe. I was also actually looking for a recipe that would create a bar last throughout the entire week.

When I subsequently turned to a diet higher in carbohydrates, I began to add oats and continued to experiment with various quantities of fruits and nuts. I believe I have finally come close to a perfect recipe. The recipe to my favorite Nut and Fruit Protein Bar is as follows:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of chopped walnuts

1/2 cup of sultanas

1/2 cup of chopped, dried apricots

1/4 cup of chopped, dried ginger

2 cups of raw oats

4 scoops (120g) of vanilla protein powder

1/2 cup of skim milk 1 protein bar

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and then stir. Add as much water as is necessary to make the mixture completely moist (finding the perfect amount may require experimenting with each batch). Spread the batter on an 8″x8″ olive oiled sprayed baking pan.

Preheat the over to 180º C, insert pan and cook for 20-30 minutes. When done the top will appear golden brown and glazed. Remove and cut into 8 equal pieces. Can be allowed to cool for an hour, placed in a Tupperware container and put into the fridge or can be eaten immediately. The protein bar pictured is topped with chopped, dried ginger and almonds.

Enjoy as a morning tea snack or as a nutritional boost after a workout. Never again will a meager muesli bar satisfy you! Be on the alert for other high protein bar and snack ideas soon to come to Kyle Wood Fitness.

Many who think about or embrace a vegan daily lifestyle question themselves, “How much protein do I require?” Plenty of plant-based meals comprise protein and contrary to what many individuals consider, the regular vegan meal plan comprises a lot of protein.

Protein Myths

Having this day’s advanced research and technology, researchers, doctors, and nutritionists have discovered that the human body doesn’t need nearly as much protein as was once believed. Within the past twenty years, the suggested daily consumption of protein has been decreased by almost 50%, across all age groups.

Almost all Americans ingest far too much protein daily. That could cause kidney illness and osteoporosis. Overindulgence in proteins could also be a trigger for food allergies, since the sufferer is reacting to the protein content in the offending foods.

How Much Protein Protein Do I Require as an Adult?

The amount of protein that a person requires differs by gender, age, and activity level. Athletes or people who exercise regularly will require a little extra to build and maintain tissue mass. In addition, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers will need more protein in order to nurture their fetus and provide nourishment for their infants.

How Do Vegans Get Sufficient Amount of Protein?

Numerous individuals still consider that animals are the only good sources of protein, however this has been proven to be false. At the same time as eggs and meat are complete proteins in and of themselves, vegans might still feed their bodies with a lot of the important proteins and various nutritional support they require with a varied diet.

The most common and complete source of protein that does not originate from an animal source is soy and soy production. For vegans who consume eggs and dairy, they are also excellent ways to boost protein intake.

Different meals, for instance legumes, nuts, seeds, entire grains, and even certain veggies all comprise proteins. These proteins aren’t believed to be “complete,” as they only consist of part of the nutritional support that makes up a whole protein. Combining these elements, however, results in complete proteins.

You’ve probably seen how many places sell protein supplements today. Whether you’re looking at a fitness site online with ads for protein bars all over the sides or standing in line at the supermarket, considering picking up a premixed protein shake to tide you over until dinner, these supplements are impossible to avoid in most cities.

But what are the benefits of having easily-consumable protein in the first place? It isn’t just about convenience.

You probably know that it’s extremely important, when trying to build muscle, that you take in enough protein. But did you know that there’s only a short set amount of time that can pass between your exercise and the time of your protein consumption during which the nutrients will be effective in your body?

After working out, you only have about an hour’s time for your muscles to be in top absorptive condition. In fact, if you can take your protein within thirty minutes of your workout that’s much better. Your muscles are primed and ready for immediate protein, carbohydrate, and glucose absorption in this time period right after strenuous use, and it’s in the time period that you must provide them with those nutrients if you want to see the biggest, fastest gains in muscle mass.

Protein matter makes up the bulk of your muscles’ tissue, but carbohydrates and glucose (as well as water) are also completely necessary for them to get bigger. And these building blocks of muscle growth, if consumed directly after your strength-training workouts, will be twice as effective than they would be if you took them at any other time

Plus, if you work out without having enough protein that day, your body will begin to literally digest itself to get the protein it needs. What does that mean for your physique? A decrease in muscle mass, and often an increase in body-fat percentage — even if you’re losing weight in the process.

Things You Need To Know About Rice Protein Powder

Have you heard of rice protein powder? This powder is a special kind of dietary supplement used by body builders nationwide. It is made up of four scrumptious ingredients namely whey, egg, soy and rice.

What Can It Do?

Rice protein powder can help you build stronger and bigger muscles. It also has the ability to enhance immune system of every person who uses it. It can also promote healthy skin while supplying just enough protein for your body.

Contraindications

Some people, on the other hand, should take caution when using this dietary supplement especially if they are suffering from liver and kidney diseases. Furthermore, the amount you should take in should be computed very well since different weight, age and activity level requires customized dosages.

Tips in Choosing the Best Protein Powder Around

Protein powders are important in every bodybuilder’s diet. It provides their protein needs in order to boost up their muscles. But amidst the numerous protein powder products around, how can you choose the best protein powder above all? The following tips are helpful to consider:

Experts recommend protein powders with whey as the primary ingredient. Check every product you look if it has whey powder as the main ingredient.

Determine if you have food allergies. Protein powders can be made from whey, soy or egg and if you are lactose intolerant then, it is advisable to avoid protein powders with whey.

Look for the sugar content. Ideal protein powder should not have a lot of sugar content.

Don’t forget to consider the mentioned tips in order to choose the best protein powder around!

Protein Powders for Bulking Up

Protein powders are dried supplements that add a significant amount of protein bulk to your body, mostly your muscles. This is the standard muscle building supplement used by body builders and athletes of all kinds who want to bulk up in muscle mass.

We all need protein. We have it in our muscles. When we exercise, we actually strain our muscles so that the cell fibers in them get damaged. When muscles heal, they create more muscle fibers, and in the process enlarge the said muscle group.

Why Powder Forms?

Protein supplements, particularly Isopure protein powder, are in powdered form so that the protein can be easily absorbed in the body. Much like the Isopure protein powder, there are other supplements that have additional juices and flavors. Isopure also has no carbohydrates, no sugar, and no lactose, so it does not leave a protein aftertaste.

Protein powder is an option for people that are looking to build mass, lean down, or simply recover better. A lot of gym goers are using it for various reasons. The fact is that not everyone needs it, however it can be a great supplement and can help a lot of people with their goals.

Protein is really important for the body and most people will not get even near the required amount. If you do not get enough protein and you are trying to put on mass or get stronger, then you will fail in your attempts. Without the correct nutrition, you won’t be able to achieve your goals, as you will have no building blocks for your muscle. You should take the protein directly after the session in order to get the most benefit out of it.

If you are trying to lose weight and you are always on the go, then protein powder can be a really good option for you. A lot of people don’t get the protein that they need because they don’t have the time to cook it. You should not let this be an excuse. Protein powder will mean tat you can get what you need even when you are on the run. You simply take the bottle with you and fill it up with water and you have a meal replacement.

Although protein powder is not for everyone, it can really make a big difference for others. If you are looking for the best protein powder, then you should try to get a whey protein and make sure that it is high quality. Rather than looking for diets that work, just eat a little more protein and you will see the weight loss benefits. If you can’t get the protein in naturally then you should look at using a supplement.
