A pull up bar is the same thing as a chin up bar. This is an exercise to build up your upper body, back and core strength. It is a very simple exercise, you just stand up and grab the bar overhand, bend your knees. cross your ankles and pull yourself up so your chin is level with the bar then you need to lower yourself until your elbows are straight. Keep doing this over and over again. This is harder than what you would think so you may need to build yourself up to this. There are different types of exercise you can do with the pull up bars such as holding your chin at bar level for as long as possible, this will help your upper body. Lift yourself up and as you are coming down, stop as several positions on your way down.

Before doing any exercise you want to make sure that you warm up first for about 15 minutes to help prevent any injuries and get you ready for your work out. You may find at first that you can not even do one chin up but hang in there, you will work your way up to it. Doing these exercises on the pull up bars 15 minutes a day will help improve your upper body strength.
There are a couple different types of pull up bars available. There are bolt on bracket bars that require you to bolt brackets on the inside edges of your door jam. The free standing pull up bars are very portable so if you decide to move it from room to room or you move to another house they can go with you. You also will not have to worry about holes in the door jam. If you do decide to purchase the free standing bar make sure you have enough room as they can take up a little bit of room.

Everyone who’s tried to exercise consistently and failed knows just how difficult it is to stay motivated. The task is made even harder for those who go to public gyms. The only time you have to go in might be the busiest time of the day there. If you want to keep exercising, you have to keep paying. You have to drive to get there. Thankfully, there is a great way to get all the advantages of a gym without any hassle. The solution is to buy your own weight bench. Here are all the ways you will be better off for it.

Accelerated Progress

A fitness bench can really help you jump start your fitness success. You can do lots of different lifts with just this one tool. You can to flat, inclined and upward lifts. And the fact that its your own means you can use it whenever you want and fully customize your workout.

Resource Efficiency

One great advantage of using your own fitness bench is that it saves you money. How, you might ask? The answer is simple. While over the short term it may be more expensive, gyms cost you continuously. If you are committed to improving your fitness for years to come, the cost of the gym membership will eventually outweigh the price of the bench. They also save you money on gas because you won’t have to commute to and from the gym.

Get Stronger

Don’t be deceived, if you want to get buff, you do not need to use machines. In fact, you benefit from using free weights instead. Studies have shown that free weight lifts generate more testosterone (good for muscle gain) than machine exercises targeting the same muscle groups.

Its easy to see that having your own gym at home is much more convenient, cheaper, and more effective for long term fitness. Even those on very tight budgets can still find cheap weight benches to serve the desired purpose. Get yours now, and stop wasting gas on the gym!

There are several reasons why both the ab chair and the ab king pro are a complete waste of money and time if you are looking for a good ab program. There are several reasons for this, and we will outline these reasons briefly in this article.

First, they cost too much money. With each costing around $100, you really have to ask the question – is it worth it? Or, a better question would be – can I get a better workout for less money? The answer to those questions are no and yes, respectively. No, they are not worth it; and yes, there is a much better alternative – either just doing regular situps or buying a Swiss ball and working out with that.

Second, do they do what they claim to do? Or, do they actually work out your abs? The answer to those questions is no, and no. They both claim to work your abs, with less work than normal workouts, and get you great looking eight pack abs. That is not going to happen, not even with their ‘expanded range of motion’. This won’t happen for a few reasons. One, there is not as much resistence. Sorry, but if you don’t have resistence you don’t have muscle growth. Two, that expanded range of motion can actually hurt you – you only need 30 degrees of motion to work out your abs. Three, targeting your abs with situps or any other wieght-lifting programs won’t work off that extra fat just from your abs. If you want the fat off, you need to do aerobic workouts.

Bottom Line

Don’t waste your money on these ‘latest and greatest’ ab machines. They simply aren’t worth it, and many would not be worth it even if they were free. Instead, stick with tried and true methods – hard, careful work, eating right – not cutting corners with funky machines.

There are a great many advantages to using adjustable dumbbels and luckily the prices for good quality sets of dumbbells has dropped in price in recent years.

We can now get best price Bowflex selecttech 552 dumbbells from places like Amazon where the rates are very low.

We can get cheap weight sets from such places and really step up our training regimes to make our workouts more intense and adjustable dumbbells really can take our training to the next level.

What we will find is that with items like the selecttech dumbbells we can perform routines that we never could before. Apart from it simply being easier to train because the weight can be changes so easily there are some great intensity boosting routines that we can implement to get bigger faster.

We are now able to perform drop sets as they should be performed. This is done with next to no rest between one set and dropping the weight and performing a few more reps. Often it takes time to change weights on bars and dumbbells but with an adjustable set we can do it straight away, and this means that we really will have one of the most intense sets we have ever done.

We can also perform pre-exhaust routines easily in the same manner and all of these techniques, if only used infrequently can really boost the gains that we can make from our training.

If you want to save space then they are also a great choice. We have a nice neat system now that we can use to keep all of our weights in a nice contained space and this is often desired by those who work out at home and do not have a lot of room in which to do it. Search for a low price and buy a set of cheap weight sets of dumbbells today.

If you want to boost your workout with chin up bar exercises but don’t want to mount a bar on your wall or in a doorway, consider using a freestanding chin up bar. Unlike most chin up bar styles, freestanding bars don’t require penetrating a wall or leaving permanent scuffing on door frames, so you can use them without damaging any part of your home. They simply mount on a stand on the floor, making it easy to move them elsewhere in the room, take them down, or transport them to a different location.

Freestanding chin up bars offer the same benefits as other chin up bars as well: they allow you to perform numerous strength-building exercises such as pull ups, chin ups, one-armed chin ups, weighted chin ups, and hanging leg raises. Because of their convenience and portability, freestanding chin up bars make excellent additions to your home gym, allowing you to integrate chin up bar exercises into your personal workout routine.

The terms “chin up” and “pull up” are sometimes used interchangeably, but these are actually two different exercises. Chin ups involve raising and lowering yourself on a chin up bar while your palms are positioned to face you. Conversely, pull ups repeat this same maneuver but require your palms to be rotated away from you. The exercise looks similar, but the difference in palm positioning helps you target your latissimus dorsi muscles — along with secondary muscle groups in your arms — from different angles. To perform a proper pull up on a chin up bar, stand with your arms fully extended above you and grasp the bar with your palms rotated outward.

From here, smoothly raise yourself until your chin is above bar-level, and then lower yourself back to the starting position. If you’re accustomed to doing chin ups, you’ll notice that pull ups have a slightly different “feel,” and might lead to muscle fatigue earlier than you’re used to. Both pull ups and chin ups are excellent exercises for developing upper body strength, and make great additions to your workout.

There are several things to consider when buying treadmills. First and foremost is the size of the treadmill. The treadmill itself must not be too big or bulky, especially if you have limited space or area in your home. It is recommended to buy the smaller treadmills for limited spaces and the larger ones for places with a wide area. Consider where you may put these machines, usually in your garage or some other place that must be dirt and dust free in order to prolong the lifespan of the machine itself.

Second factor to consider is the price. There are treadmills that cost thousands of dollars compared to those costing far less than the said amount. The thing is that the latter also has the same features and performs at the same rate as the former. As such, it is very important to consider the availability of the treadmill vis-à-vis the date of its release. This is in order to save up on the money since newer models typically cost more than older ones. It is important to consider the season in buying a treadmill, since every year when summer comes the prices usually go up and during the winter season the prices usually go down. Buy the machine at its lowest possible price in order to save up on the much needed money or cash.

Thirdly, make sure to buy the treadmill that can handle huge amounts of workload. The treadmill itself must have high performance levels that can be put to the extreme with the sturdiness and durability that can last for at least 10 years. This is a factor that must not be ignored in order for the user to get the value for the money that he or she has spent in purchasing one. Take note of the warranty for the conveyor belt, the LCD monitor and other parts of the machine itself in order to be sure that it has high durability.

Lastly, look for the most trusted manufacturers when buying a treadmill machine. This is to ensure that the product itself has adequate support and warranty. This is particularly needed since buying a treadmill is in reality a huge investment. Why buy those cheaper treadmills that do not offer adequate customer service and support when you can buy one which is 50 or 100 dollars more but offer the much needed service and support? Consider all of these factors when trying to buy a treadmill for your own personal use.

Do you feel that you could benefit from integrating a little more variety into your home workouts? Sometimes it’s easy to fall into a routine and keep doing the same exercises without making a significant amount of progress. If this is the case, buying yourself a gym bench for your home gym could help you spice up your training regimen.

You could greatly improve the results of your strength-building routines if your were to include certain exercises that can only be performed correctly with a gym bench. Such exercises include compound movements (exercises that work a variety of different muscles at once), and isolation movements (exercises that target one specific muscle).

There are a multitude of muscle-building movements that can be performed with a bench. Excellent compound exercises include the bench press and dumbbell rows, both of which will have a significant growth impact on the muscles in your upper body. In addition to these basic exercises, there are a plethora of isolation movements that can be done with a gym bench, such as overhead triceps extensions, dumbbell flyes, and one-handed rows.

When using a bench, it is important to know your limits or have a training partner that can assist you with heavier weights. If you attempt to perform your maximum weight on the bench press, having someone there to spot you will greatly reduce the risk of injury that could be experienced if you were unable to get the weight back up. For this reason, it is important to know how to perform bench exercises with proper form.

The exercises that can be performed with a bench are considered a fundamental part of any serious weight-lifter’s training regimen. By not including these exercises in your workout routine, you may be missing out on the benefits of increased strength and muscle gains. Additionally, using bench exercises in your future training routines will help to motivate you and keep things creative.

More details on gym bench use can be found at Everything for Your Family

The most convenient method for measuring bodyfat is the use of skinfold calipers

This method is subject to error, particularly in light of the fact that everyone differs as to the locations on their body where fat is	distributed; however, numerous scientific studies have shown the skinfold method to be reasonably accurate, and it is far simpler and much less expensive than the other methods used.

There is only one true way to get an accurate measurement of your body fat percentage, and that is by using something called body fatcalipers. Calipers are a measurement device used to measure thickness. In this	case, it will be the thickness of parts of your body. There are a few specific spots (referred to as “skinfolds”) that you measure with the calipers, and then you do some basic math, and… that’s it. Within seconds you will know your	body fat percentage.

Skinfold calipers come in many different varieties, ranging from extremely expensive (several hundred dollars) to relatively cheap (less	than ten dollars). Perhaps the most popular brand is Accu-Measure®, which are 100% plastic in design. The pressure of these calipers on the skinfold is determined by a third leg which “snaps” into a small slot as the calipers are squeezed to the proper pressure. While these calipers are modestly accurate, they are often criticized as being less accurate than calipers using metal springs.

Another popular brand of calipers, reputed to be more accurate, is Slim Guide®. These calipers are predominantly plastic but have	precision metal springs designed to place the proper amount of pressure on the	skinfold. Rather than squeezing these calipers together, they are squeezed open, and the spring pressure then closes them to the proper pressure.

A Digital Body Fat Caliper is also available. The FatTrack GOLD is a new configuration of the successful FatTrack II, with a MyoTape Body Tape Measure added for extra measurement capability.

The best way to ensure the longest useful life out of any treadmill is by supporting it with a quality treadmill mat. A treadmill floor mat should be used for just about any exercise machine or equipment but a treadmill especially because it creates more vibration that any other machine. The stress of the motor running and the runner pounding away with all their weight will wear down floors and the treadmill itself. That is not to mention to noise generated from all the moving parts. A SuperMat prides itself in differentiating from the rest of the pack by providing a little more quality than your average treadmill mat.

First of all, most treadmill mats come in a standard size that is good for most common home treadmills. For any treadmill owner this is the bare minimum. But some people either want to take it to the next level and provide extra support for their treadmills or simply have non-typical sized piece of equipment. In such cases SuperMat offers floor mats that will fit larger machines. The extra size is also good for normal treadmills since it doesn’t hurt to be larger.

But what really benefits all treadmill sizes is what the SuperMat is made of. Assuming the mat is adequately sized for the machine, the only difference is in the thickness and quality of the material. A SuperMat is made of a highly durable PVC material to take the full beating delivered by the treadmill during a workout session. It also makes the mat very easy to clean with the wipe of a cloth.

Another important aspect that is hard to judge upfront is the compression resistance of the material of the treadmill mat. Poor quality mats will flatten almost as soon as the weight of the treadmill hits it. You will want something that can hold its own against the treadmill over the years.
