A quick 15 minute workout with the pull up bar

A pull up bar is the same thing as a chin up bar. This is an exercise to build up your upper body, back and core strength. It is a very simple exercise, you just stand up and grab the bar overhand, bend your knees. cross your ankles and pull yourself up so your chin is level with the bar then you need to lower yourself until your elbows are straight. Keep doing this over and over again. This is harder than what you would think so you may need to build yourself up to this. There are different types of exercise you can do with the pull up bars such as holding your chin at bar level for as long as possible, this will help your upper body. Lift yourself up and as you are coming down, stop as several positions on your way down.

Before doing any exercise you want to make sure that you warm up first for about 15 minutes to help prevent any injuries and get you ready for your work out. You may find at first that you can not even do one chin up but hang in there, you will work your way up to it. Doing these exercises on the pull up bars 15 minutes a day will help improve your upper body strength.
There are a couple different types of pull up bars available. There are bolt on bracket bars that require you to bolt brackets on the inside edges of your door jam. The free standing pull up bars are very portable so if you decide to move it from room to room or you move to another house they can go with you. You also will not have to worry about holes in the door jam. If you do decide to purchase the free standing bar make sure you have enough room as they can take up a little bit of room.
